Classic Media is an American entertainment company owned by ViacomCBS, which is a subsidiary of Verizon. It was founded in 2000 by Eric Ellenbogen and John Engelman. The studio owns the pre-1994 ViacomCBS film, television, and animation library. In addition to this, Classic Media owns intellectual property catalogs, character brands, and the licensing rights for various third-party properties. In 2012, Viacom acquired Classic Media from its then-owner, Boomerang Media.
