Mickeylooneyhouse: A Mickey Mouse/Looney Tunes Production is an upcoming American animated comedy crossover series that is created by Ed-Olive Chadwick. It is produced by Amblin Television, Disney Television Animation, and Warner Bros. Animation. The show features characters from the Mickey Mouse franchise, the Looney Tunes franchise, Animaniacs, and licensed characters, too. Unlike modern animation, the characters in the show retain their classic behavior.

It will premiere on Disney XD, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network, and Boomerang on January 1st, 2019.

The show will be produced by Peter Browngardt, with Sam Register, Steven Spielberg, and Dan Povenmire serving as the executive producers.

Production

Chadwick first came up with the idea of the show after seeing a scene in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, where Mickey and Bugs appeared skydiving. He stated that he wanted to make a show that took place after that movie, where Mickey and Bugs befriended each other, and welcomed each other into their worlds. He then ended the statement with "It's what I always wanted to do, and now, that dream is fulfilled. I'm planning the show, and it won't be a disappointment to the world."

Animation

The show has a very unique animation style, where the black outlines are excluded, with the lines being very slender. The animation also resembles that of stop-motion animation and has a comic book feel as well, and has CGI-esque complex lighting and shading. During production of the show, it took over 1300 people to fully animate a 1-minute scene, which is the largest animation crew ever used for a TV series.

The animation of the show is mainly outsourced to Xilam in France. Wang Film Productions, TMS Entertainment, and Saerom Animation also animate the show.

The animation style has many similarities to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's, which was one of the influences for the style.

The animation is directed by Eric Goldberg.

Music

The theme music is composed by Hans Zimmer.

Theme lyrics

  • Welcome to the Mickeylooneyhouse
  • We'll guide you around
  • You'll meet some friendly foes
  • Just right here,
  • in the MICKEYLOONEYHOUSE!
  • Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny are rivals, but they aren't enemies
  • Donald and Daffy, they're cousins, but they run into each other
  • But, it sure is fun, no matter where you go
  • You're in here, in the place where you need to be,
  • in the MICKEYLOONEYHOUSE!
  • (Let's begin!)
